Tall Man, Tall Order – Custom Bathroom Remodel

When your client is 6’7″, the standard shower just doesn’t cut it.

That was the challenge handed to us at RIAANS DESIGNS—create a comfortable, spacious bathroom remodel tailored specifically for a very tall homeowner. The solution? A complete demo of the existing three-quarter bath and a thoughtful redesign that prioritizes scale, comfort, and style.

We expanded the shower enclosure well beyond typical dimensions, ensuring the height and depth met the client’s needs without compromising on aesthetics. The result is a stunning, right-sized shower wrapped in denim-blue, beveled porcelain mosaic tiles laid in a striking herringbone pattern. The tile, Lenox Caspian Porcelain from Floor & Décor in Buckhead, gives this shower surround a rich texture and bold character.

But it’s the brass that steals the show. The shower door hardware and fixtures are trimmed in warm brass tones, echoed by a custom-built square shower niche accented in the same finish – an elegant contrast to the blue tile. That niche design is cleverly repeated across the room in a secondary built-in shelf, perfectly integrated into the overall layout.

A brass-framed mirror continues the warm metal theme and sits beautifully above a sleek bamboo vanity. Behind it, La Belle Purity Ceramic Polished Tile (also from Floor & Décor Buckhead) wraps the bathroom walls, installed horizontally all the way to the ceiling—a design trick that visually widens the small 45 sq ft space and makes it feel airy and open.

Function meets efficiency with the installation of a heavy-duty window replacement. The Vinyl Kraft Trustgard Casement Series was selected for its premium vinyl construction, all-welded frame, and top-tier energy performance, featuring LOE 270 Energy-Efficient glass. It’s one of the most robust and insulating window options on the market—perfect for a homeowner who values both durability and sustainability.

This remodel proves that when size matters, thoughtful design makes all the difference. And with RIAANS DESIGNS on the job, form and function always go hand in hand.
